Campaign Diary | Session 21

Session 21: An Elvish City Pre-thoughts: I have not been preparing enough for these sessions. I am not sure what is going on, stress, burnout, or maybe my time management has gone to shit, but I am only preparing the night before for maybe 2-3 hours. I use to spend 4-6 hours prepping a session or worldbuilding. I just get home from work and want to play video games. Fun but not productive for DnD. My idea for this session was just to let the players explore the city which… Read more Campaign Diary | Session 21

Campaign Diary | Session 20

Session 20: The Sky Runners Pre-thoughts: I was pretty unprepared for this session. I knew I wanted to get them to Seyrine as I was getting tired of narrating travel and wanted to lay out a plot hook for them to track the group attacking the Kiths. I also wanted to make it difficult for them to get access to important people in Seyrine as they have been flashing the Kings Writ around lately. Still, this was a session that I figured would test my improve skills.  Summary: The party… Read more Campaign Diary | Session 20

Campaign Diary | Session 19

Session 19: Falling Leaves Pre-thoughts: This session is all about getting them to Seyrine and trying out a combat encounter to test balancing with the new party of three. I also want to introduce them to a centaur herd and another NPC who can give them more information on the current climate of Seyrine and the Dracken Wood. I also want to do a bit of a lore drop about Dosmyrr’s previous invasion of Bremron. Summary: The party heads deeper into the Dracken Wood, following an illuminating conversation with Mr.… Read more Campaign Diary | Session 19

Campaign Diary | Session 18

Session 18: A Path to Tread Pre-thoughts: I like to think I can throw together a compelling narrative or engaging combat encounter, but where I suffer is speaking in character. I often fall back on just summarizing the information players receive. I think I can do better, so that is the focus of this session. I am going to try and actively speak as my NPC’s.  This session should be role-play heavy, matches nicely with my goal, as they have a meeting with the King and then travel time. Hopefully,… Read more Campaign Diary | Session 18

Campaign Diary | Session 17

Session 17: The Theft of a Dragon Pre-Session Thoughts: I was a little concerned going into this session as me and the Druid were both pretty fatigued going into the session. Myself from being sick and him from work. I was concerned as this was meant to be the big battle session and I figured it would require a lot of energy from me. The druid also had to run two characters as our Wizard was taking a leave of absence due to family issues and as seems to be… Read more Campaign Diary | Session 17

Campaign Diary: Session 16

Session 16: The Remains of the Dragon Pre-Session Thoughts: I was really hoping in this session to get them to the remains of Sadraphyluxis and through the dawn, ambush has planned. I was partly successful in this attempt with players taking longer than anticipated to pursue and complete certain tasks. The whole goal of this session was to really get the party to decide if they were going to pursue the raiders who (Spoilers) are going to steal the remains of Sadraphyluxis or continue on to the Dracken Wood and… Read more Campaign Diary: Session 16

Session 15 Journal

First let me say I am not happy about this format and the next one will be more concise and focused, but if i don’t post it now it will not be posted with work picking up. Anyone for your purview. Session 15: Going Up the River My plan for the Session: As this was our first time playing in about 3 months due to everyone being on vacation, I was pretty nervous but excited to get back into things. I figured this would be a simple get from point… Read more Session 15 Journal
